When I was still in school, I used to love music and going to concerts. Everytime a band or artist I liked was coming to Chile, I was there. But the one concert I remember the most, without a doubt, is the Rage Against the Machine concert, named "Battle of Santiago". It was held in the Estadio Bicentenario de La Florida, and brought by the Maquinaria Fest.
The year was 2010, and the concert was simply amazing. It was crowded, and the people there had such an incredibly energy that everybody was jumping and dancing non-stop. Sometimes I like to remember the concert and look for videos on YouTube of that night.
The stadium was divided in many sections, like Palco, Cancha, Andes, etc. But the organizers divided Cancha in two parts, "Cancha general" y "Rock area". Rock area, AKA, "Cancha VIP", was more expensive but also more close to the scenario. The people in the concert felt it was outrageous to separate this sector just to sell more expensive tickets. So, what people did was to jump from Cancha to Rock area, despite the guards and the fences. It was crazy, the people were furious, many of them fought with the guards, but in the end, a great number of spectators got to Rock area.
Nevertheless, the place was still crowded.

All this happened just before Rage Against the Machine would begin to play. But before that, two bands played. The first one was Suicidal Tendencies, an American band from the '80s. Then, The Mars Volta played, another American band. The drummer of The Mars Volta also has another band called One day as a lion; it has two members, the drummer of The Mars Volta, and Zack de la Rocha, the singer of Rage Against the Machine.
Once the concert began, it was nuts. All the people was desperate to start jumping and dancing and singing and screaming.
The concert was very short, around an hour and a half. Most of the concerts I have been have lasted at least two hours, sometimes almost three hours. They played fifteen songs, but it was brutal. By the end of the concert I was completely destroyed, in pain, beaten, but... Totally happy.
The concert was so amazing that even Tom Morello, the bass player, in a video a couple of years later, said that his favorite concert was "The battle of Santiago" because of all the energy that the spectators had.

I'm regretful for not having going to that concert. You can't see RATM and The Mars Volta playing in the same concert everyday. It had to be amazing being there.
